What is love? It might be when you’ve killed all your tomato plants, because you’re trying to grow them in 55 degree temperatures and fog. But you’ve got warm tomato garden envy and just desperately need to grow a tomato this summer, it’s obsessive and almost psychotic. I think love is when your very understanding and amazing boyfriend buys you a tomato plant with tomatoes on it just to make your vegetable growing dreams come true.
Quirky finds are such a delight at the local thrift stores. I go often enough to see the new stock arriving each week. Sometimes, there are hidden treasures like this metal watering can, given a second chance at life as my crawling lemon thyme pot. Holding the can in the store, I could vividly imagine the bright green leaves against the tomato red on the front deck.
